Very good and professional class

This course was great. It is run very professionally and Bernard is a great instructor. This course is demanding, with long days and lots of information to retain, but the way that Bernard presents it and push you to succeed is what makes it a great class. Bernard will make you earn your certification but he is very fair and willing to help you earn your certification. I know my future train will be with Bernard and yours should be too!!

Going into Bernard's class, being that it was my first NRA program, I didn't know what to expect. I took from the class so much, and am a better, more knowledgable person for taking it. I learned a great deal. Bernard's attitude and commitment towards his students and the quality of education they receive from his class is admirable. He really takes pride in his work, and it most certainly shows. Prior to taking his instructor's course, I thought being an instructor would be a breeze. My eyes are open now, and it won't be so simple. I don't know what I was actually thinking, when I thought I could be an instructor without taking his course. I must've been crazy. Of course, i will need actual experience applying what I've learned in his instructor's course, but I really feel up to the task now. I went into the class with the notion that after I've completed it, I wouldn't care to take anymore course. I was wrong. I was completely blown away. Surprisingly, Bernard's course makes me want to enroll into more classes. When the time becomes available, I most certainly will do so. Thank you for letting me take your class!

I have taken several NRA Instructor classes from Bernard and he is a great instructor. He does not just "give away" NRA Instructor certifications. He makes you work for them. He makes sure you know the material and can get the information across to the students. I have enjoyed all the classes I have taken from Bernard and believe I will be taking many more NRA Instructor classes from him.

I decided it was time to get my instructor's certification, and chose Bernard based on the web description and testimonials as you find here. It was a great decision! Bernard did a fantastic job! He is extremely knowledgeable, an enthusiastic and attentive trainer, and he kept things entertaining but serious as befits the subject. I highly recommend this program!

The best instructor class you can take

I didn't know quite what to expect when I signed up for this course but I got more than I bargained for.
The instructors were absolutely knowledgeable and the course instruction second to none.
Be prepared, this is a rigorous course that requires constant attention. You can make some serious errors if you're not paying attention.
Highly, highly recommended to anyone considering becoming a NRA pistol instructor.

I wanted to personally thank you and Dan for the great time this weekend. In my professional career both within the military as well as the outside world with a publicly traded company I have never enjoyed a training session as much as I did yours, especially combined with the knowledge that I took away from it.
I hope to see both Dan and yourself in the near future both on a student/instructor relationship but also as an industry partner. Should there ever be anything I can do to assist either of you please do not hesitate to ask.

This course was fantastic! I did not know what to expect from this course going in, but I must say that every aspect of this course was exceptional! The training was first rate, and I definitely felt prepared to teach immediately following the conclusion of the class. Instructors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in every way. I will definitely be taking courses from here again in the future!

WOW….very tiring time but great classes due to the instructors. Having gone through years of advanced college courses the idea of 12 hours+ days I thought I would need to use some energy drink I purchased. But with the way the classes were organized and conducted time went by in a flash so I never needed them. Dan and Bernard are very engaging and excellent teachers.

I have been in the Army for the past 22 plus years. So, you can imagine that in my tenure in the Army, I have had many training classes ranging from 2 hours to 16 weeks. I thought that prior to taking the Basic Instructor Training, Home Firearms Defense, and Basic Pistol, that it would be just another one of those powerpoint sleepers. You know what I mean. This 2 day course was exactly opposite. Dan and Bernard are awesome, and their personalities mesh well together. Every learning tool to keep the class attention was readily available for the class to use. There is definitely a lot of material to cover in 2 days, but we are out in the middle of the woods, at a great training facility, with no distractions. Not only did I recieve great training to go out and teach others, but I made some great friends. If you are looking to learn about safety, firearms, tactics, home, and self defense, this is the place to go. I am an avid shooter, and a DIE HARD 2nd Amendment supporter, and these guys are too. They display the type of passion that spills over to the class, making it an incredible training event. I am getting ready for sign up for more certifications in the near future. I will only be trained by Bernard and Dan. Awesome. Thanks again.

High Quality Training = High Quality Trainers

When I first thought about becoming a certified trainer for the NRA I knew I had a good goal. After taking this course with Bernard and Dan, I realize I am involved with a process that means much more than certifying others to carry a firearm. I am now responsible for teaching others how to be safe and sure firearm owners. My responsibility is to teach others how to save their life and others by using their firearms responsibly, each and every time.
I feel much more confidence to do just that because of the dedicated teaching I experienced at the DropZone. To say that these instructors are dedicated to their task is an understatement. This course has made me a much more responsible and qualified educator.
I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to "raise the bar" in their firearm knowledge and ability to train others.

Excellent Training Brings New Opportunities

As a lifelong educator and someone passionate about shooting, becoming an instructor seemed like a natural progression. Not only did this class improve my skills with firearms, it strengthened my confidence both as a shooter and a teacher. When I doubted myself, Bernard and David did not and set the bar high with expectations for me to achieve. Since this class, I have continued seeking new opportunities and have become certified as a Range Safety Officer, Personal Protection in the Home, and Refuse to Be a Victim. I am doing private lessons of all the above as well as Conceal Carry Classes and have been the trainer at 2 different gun shops in the area. This class opened new horizons and gave me new opportunities to share my excitement and passion for firearms. I highly recommend it and cannot wait to take more classes!!

As a Master Instructor and as the company Instructor Development Coordinator, I encouraged our entire instructor cadre to attend this course as taught by Bernard Martinage. My senior and emerging instructors received more than NRA courseware indoctrination—Bernard’s skill as a professional educator significantly increased retention of NRA subject matter and improved instructor efficacy among my team of instructors. I am a professional law enforcement trainer and have participated in a wide variety of instructor training. By far the quality of training delivered in the course was above and beyond a vast majority of the more expensive programs I have participated in. The teaching tools I left with will not doubt enable me to provide quality instruction to my future students and will help further the positive image of the responsible gun owner/user in my community. I look forward to training with this outfit in the future and strongly recommend them to anyone interested taking a train-the-trainer course.
